Lisbon is also greatly known to have one of the warmest climates in the whole of Europe and one that is appealing no mater the season. Summer is the most prized season in Lisbon. This is the time that most of the biggest and popular festivities are held. It is for this reason that this city is Portugal’s most loved tourist destination.

Summer in Lisbon is experienced from the months of July through to September. August in Lisbon is one of the months that have the hottest temperatures. It is the best season for beach lovers to go snorkelling and sunbathing. These high temperatures are only experienced during the day, even though the fact that the city is located near the sea makes it experience occasions of cooler breezes from the sea. The evenings come with mild temperatures and it is the time that you will find most of the locals coming out to enjoy themselves. You can find them in pavements and squares on in late opened bars and clubs. During this time of the year tourists can also get to experience the colourful street parties and parades. This is between the 7th and 9th months of the year. Included in this shows and parades is the famous Cascais International Sailing Week.

Winter in Lisbon is more often than not mild and is usually in the months of December and January. What is very unique about this winter in Lisbon is that there is never a snowfall although there may be occasion that the city experiences flurries of snow especially in January. This is usually caused by Portugal’s nearness to the Arctic.

Spring in Lisbon usually consists of favourable weather conditions and it is the best time to go sight seeing in the city. Furthermore, since it is the off peak season one can greatly enjoy sight seeing without having to push over with the many tourists that can be found in the summer.
